Genesis Morrow

We are so excited to award Genesis the honor of being our 2015 Dancer of the Year. Genesis has been a dedicated member of our competitive team for 5 years. She works hard in all her technique classes. All the teachers say the same thing about her, "her work ethics are GREAT"! Genesis is one of the stronger tap dancers in the studio. And she gives awesome HUGS!! We love seeing the dancer and young lady she is becoming. Below is a portion of our interview with her:

How old are you? And what grade are you currently in?
I'm 10yrs old and I'm currently in the 5th grade.

How long have you been dancing?
I been dancing for 7yrs.

What is your favorite style of dance?
My favorite style of dance is tap.

Who are some of your favorite dancers?
Some of my favorite dancers are Asia Monet Ray, Nia Sioux, Mackenzie Ziegler, Maddie Ziegler, and Joanna Noelle.

What do you enjoy doing outside of dance?
I enjoy drawing, singing, and reading.

What was your favorite dance routine that you performed and why?
Even though I haven't performed my solo Gimme Dat Bass yet I believe that would be my favorite dance routine. I love the funky moves and I get excited just thinking about performing my first solo.

What advice do you have for the younger dancers in your studio?
My advice is to continue to work hard and never give up no matter how hard the challenge is. Learn from your mistakes.

What do you enjoy most about dancing?
The thing that I enjoy most about dancing is being able to perform in front of a large crowd and moving to the sound of music.

What is the hardest thing about being a dancer?
The hardest thing about being a dancer is pushing yourself to continue and work hard even when you are tired.
